Mike Bamber was an energetic and charismatic businessman. In the early 1970s, he turned his attention to Brighton & Hove Albion FC. Up until his chairmanship it was a team that was permanently in the lower divisions of the Football League. Mike put Brighton & Hove Albion on the map, and the club was promoted to the First Division of the League during their 1978-79 season. The team reached two FA Cup finals during his time as Chairman. He left the club in 1984.
823 Dennis Trident - carried name since delivery in March 2000, repainted into new livery May 2005. March 2012 name transferred to new Volvo Gemini 424 on Route 1. Name transferred to Scania Omnidekka 672 in April 2016. Bus sold in May 2025. Name reappeared on 779 ADL Enviro400 in December 2025.
