Pat Moorman was a respected and long-serving journalist. Her career helped document and reflect public life in Brighton & Hove. She worked for the Brighton and Hove Gazette for many years. She later joined the Leader, where she remained until her retirement in 2003. Pat was best known for her coverage of the Brighton Festival and her theatre reviews, particularly at the Theatre Royal. Her work also included local news reporting and feature writing. Under the pseudonym Professor Bullseye, she wrote a popular children's page for the Gazette. At the Leader, she authored Pat's Page and a nostalgia column, Down Memory Lane, in which she shared her affection for the city's past with local readers. She moved to the Queen's Park area in 1978 with her husband Paul, where she was a well-known local figure. The couple were married for 44 years and had four children. Few reporters had such a long career in journalism in the city as Pat. Her writing captured the changing character of Brighton & Hove over several decades. She was fondly regarded by all and popular for her lively writing. Pat was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2006. Her work contributes to a valuable record of Brighton & Hove's cultural and social life during the late 1900s.
