Connections with Brighton and Hove : This well known figure in the world of music was for 51 years a member of Brighton Orpheus Choir. She joined in 1948 after becoming head of music at Varndean Grammar School for Girls. Patricia Harding retired from the school in 1980 after 32 years and was eventually made an MBE. Brighton Orpheus Choir prospered under her direction and quickly increased in size. Members were encouraged to venture into work of all kinds event if they proved difficult. A full house of more than 500 enjoyed her last concert, a performance of Haydn’s Creation in All Saints Church, Hove, in 1999. She died the following year.

627 Scania Omnidekka carried name since delivery in February 2004, on METRO Line 1. Metro 1 branding removed April 2012. Repainted into Route 48 livery December 2012, but name spelt wrong as Patrica Harding, correct on 21 December 2012. Route 48 branding removed April 2014. Bus sold in September 2016. Name reappeared on 853 Mercedes Streetdeck in December 2017.
