Connections with Brighton and Hove : Best known for designing the Houses of Parliament, Barry was also responsible for several fine buildings in Brighton. When a young man, he won a competition to design what is now the parish church of St Peter’s in York Place. Barry also designed the early buildings, now listed, at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Eastern Road, Brighton, Perhaps the most charming of his Brighton buildings is the Italianate church of St Andrew’s in Waterloo Street, Hove, now closed for worship but open regularly to the public for viewing.

809 Dennis Trident - carried name since delivery in April 1999, originally on METRO Line 1 then METRO Line 7 from April 2004, repainted into new livery for METRO 7 from December 2004. April 2011 name transferred to 404 Volvo Gemini. Repainted into new Route 6 livery November 2016.
