Albert was born in Brighton and had a number of roles within the resort, from entertainment entrepreneur to Streamline Taxi driver.
Known in the town as ‘Brighton’s Bright Boy’ in the 1950s, he regularly hosted ‘Tuesday Night at the Dome’ bringing then famous singers such as Helen Shapiro and Alma Cogan to the town. He entertained at Hove Bandstand putting on summer shows and made a brief appearance on TV as well as winning talent contests at Sussex holiday camps. Albert organised Brighton cabbies in a campaign to stop private hire cars operating in Brighton. For many years he was a prolific writer of letters to The Evening Argus. His brother was a Brighton Councillor and Justice of the Peace.
