Connections with Brighton and Hove : Heather Cowl, taught music at Dorothy Stringer School in Loder Road, Brighton for 26 years, She was active in musical societies across the city, including Springboard Brighton and Hove Performing Arts Festival. She trained at the Royal Academy of Music before becoming a music teacher and she was also a qualified conductor, teaching briefly at schools in Moulsecoomb and Patcham before joining Dorothy Stringer. More than 150 musicians of Heather’s students performed at a farewell concert at the Clarendon Centre, to mark her retirement. During her 43 years as a teacher, Heather taught thousands of pupils, many of whom went on to have professional music careers. She was awarded an MBE for services to education.
715 Scania Omnicity - carried name since delivery in June 2009 on Metro 5. Metro 5 branding removed July 2013. Repainted in September 2013. Bus sold in April 2016. Name reappeared on ADL Enviro400 322 in February 2024.
